EPISODE 16

This entire episode is about Zoe and Sam, basically.

But before I proceed any further, I finally heard the name of Tang Chi Fung's (or Tang Chin Fung, not sure which is correct yet) character, he is called Tony Ching! I think I heard Tony.

Anyway Tony has this major problem and he told Sam and that is having a girlfriend 15 years your junior can be a pain. And Sam agrees, somewhat.

Back in HK, Sam wanted to give Belle that book he bought when he saw the new bedroom and didn't give Belle that book, a wise action if you ask me.

Meanwhile, Zoe is actively considering whether to make the move or not. Phillip saw Zoe hanging around Sam's room one night when she was there to have dinner with them (like a regular guest) and he knew. So he told Sam to be more opened but never specifically say why, how, when, where so Sam didn't really understand.

But Zoe was really into Sam now, after he rescued her twice from that maniac you saw two episodes ago, who at first harrassed Zoe at the airport (and Sam giving him this kung fu manouvere-amazing Sam!) and then when he kidnapped Zoe and again Sam came to the rescue, got slashed himself in the process. Zoe was in love.

Isaac then told Zoe Sam was going to Japan and Zoe followed along, deliberately pretending to bump into him at the hotel when she was all dressed to celebrate her 21st birthday with Sam. Sam agreed and Zoe then narrated this story about some dude with one chick and about some chocolated, cue we have fantasy scene but really I didn't get the story. But Zoe said the story meant that you must appreciate the person before you. Sam pretended not to understand her meaning and Zoe left angrily and Sam looked at her leaving. Then he chased after her and he gave her this chocolate as present and Zoe made him promise to buy her a chocolate whereever he may fly to and Sam said yes and they walked hand in hand.

Sorry if I may sound very confuse, because are they an item now or not? I simply didn't get it.

And I didn't get this part...

I was speculating Isaac has a crush on Zoe but this episode confused me further and yet tried to show like he didn't have a crush, they were good friends and he even knew about Zoe's crush on his brother. Now this is what was weird about the whole thing ...

Earlier in a classroom when Donald was trying to give Zita some expensive pen as gift, they were all asking Chris, the self professed babe magnet how to make a girl like them and what to give them for birthdays. Isaac was very interested in this topic and even seriously asked Chris, what should you give a girl for their birthday? At that point I knew Zita has had her birthday but Zoe's birthday was coming soon. So I thought Isaac really wanted to give Zoe something special but that storyline was never fully developed.

When Zoe was hurt in that kidnap attempt, Isaac was very concerned about her, and that kinda gave me the impression Zoe likes Sam BUT Isaac likes Zoe.

But that was never fully developed.

I have a feeling some scenes may have been mixed up in its timeline and the writer may seriously wanted to develop the storyline between Zoe and Isaac but decided half way not to, which was why there were so many signs, but never fully developed.

And that was such a pity because I actually thought they looked great together and Isaac was all too happy to see Zoe,all the time!

Anyway not much to say of today's episode except for the strange timeline and underdeveloped scenes which would have made this series more interesting.

One complain though; I simply hate that story narration scene by Zoe to Sam. It broke the momentum as Zoe tried hard to tell Sam she liked him and that whole scene was so ridiculous, totally killed the credibility of this episode. I was enjoying so much this scene where Zoe stopped calling Sam Sam Jor but called him Sam and Sam asked why she stopped calling him Sam Kor and then we have that stupid scene. Stupid stupid scene.

Anyway, Zoe was so very pretty in that black dress that even Sam was very impressed. I have this feeling with Sam's choice of cholthing (always sweater on top of a shirt), he must have been a very serious studious nerdy student at school whilst Vincent was the popular flamboyant stylish one so not many girls really actually be attracted to Sam instantly, except for Zoe.

One nice scene was again that sam scene where the biggest chunk of Zoe and Sam scene was at where Zoe said "I am not a little girl anymore..." and Sam said "I do like having a little sister" to which Zoe answered "I have 7 brothers, I do not need another brother!". Very powerful confession of love without actually saying "Sam, I love you".

But really, are they an item now or not? Why so cryptic, why so code like??

Performance wise, Myolie Wu rules. Francis rules and Ron is just too cute. The rest are forgettable or simply underused or even never used.

Yes! it's Tony. You finally catch his name. Thank you. :)

Tang Chi Fung speaks the best English in the series imo. His english dialog is the easiest to understand because he doesn't have a heavy accent like the other actors. Michelle also can speaks fluent English I think, but her accent is so heavy that her English is as hard to understand as Francis's and Joe's.

Kidd-No lar. Michelle's English is American English, not hard to understand at all. I think that gwailo who plays Eddie is Australian English? Ron Ng very difficult to understand also although Sammul Chan is ok. Tang Chi Fung is I think more like HK English but good because good grammar, good pronunciation, unlike Joe Ma and Francis and even Ron, all very bad English because basically they do not know English.

Jerry Lam also very good English.
