EPISODE 7

The confusion of Belle continues, but fortunately just a short scene where she waited for Sam at the restaurant as promised, Sam never turned up and Belle never knew why. We know of course, he went to Japan to look for Isaac after volunteering to "clean" up the mess left by his irresponsible parents.



One thing I must note though, that is the contuinity of this series which is good. Last episode his parents wanted to make themselves look better before recording their confession to Isaac and in today's episode, they both were smartly dressed, hair permed with glitter dust on their hair and faces. I was laughing so hard I couldn't stop. Very funny scene, especially with Sam giving them his dagger stare and rightly so.



Anyway he called Ruby who gave him Zoe's number who told him Isaac was with her at her 3rd bro's house/farm/B&B I think. Anyway off we go to Japan.



What a beautiful place Zoe's brother has who married a Japanese wife. Isaac was moody all day long, angry at being cheated all these years. At the same time he found a connection emotionally with Zita who was there looking for her long lost father. Zita was very upset that she couldn't find her father and desperately wanted to whilst Isaac, who told her everything out of frustration didn't want to know anything. Frustrated, Zita said, "Here I am like a lunatic running all over town looking for my father and you...you were found and the more he(Sam) called, the more you ran ...". Which is true. Sam arrived, saw Isaac and gave him the cookies their mother made and said with the gentlest of tone "The mistakes of our parents are in the past.. we still have familial love..." and Isaac just pushed that tupperware away and bam! It fell to the floor, breaking into two pieces, cookies came tumbling out and guess what? Tupperware was total loss but cookie still one big piece! Ahhh a TV mistake! Plenty more, like how Isaac and Zita can wonder around Japan like they know the place, when Zoe could do that since her brother lives there.



Anyway meanwhile Zoe was very upset that she spoiled everything. Sam explained to her the situation (see how often those that weren't a pair at first will first connect emotionally through deep secrets like Zoe and Sam whilst Belle and Sam didn't have that level of emotional connection earlier on) and Zoe vowed to right the wrong but how?



Zoe saw how Isaac rebuffed Sam's gentle persuasion and saw how Sam scolded Isaac and said "OK! If that's how you want it, I too do not want a brother who is as immature and irresponsible as you!" and Isaac ran away. Zoe approached Sam and Sam didn't blame Isaac, he was just frustrated, like Isaac was too. But Zoe rightly said.."No! You were right! He kept thinking he could not accept that he has an older brother but did he ever thought how you feel, that suddenly you have a little brother?" Good point Zoe and Sam appreciated Zoe's support. Ahhh blossoming loveeee



But Zoe still had to get them back together again. And so she made a plan by lying to Sam, saying Isaac ran into a forest that has dangerous wild bears whilst the other gang (Roy, Chris, Donald) ran to Isaac and told him Sam ran into a forest that has dangerous wild bears. Both ran to the forest and tried to look for each other and then Zoe heard something Sam couldn't recognise since it was new to him...it was Isaac screaming "BROTHER!! BROTHER!!!" at the top of his lungs. Sam ran towards Isaac and screamed "FOONG! FOONG!" (I didn't know he was called Foong) and they found one another. Suddenly they both saw a big black bear approaching and Sam immediately stood in front of Isaac shielding him and as the bear approached, both were scared and then.. the bear stumbled and fell! They both knew they have been duped and it was Paul in that costume. Zoe was carrying a cassette player playing the bear's calls and everybody laughed as Isaac and Sam reunited. But Paul fell on Zoe and Zoe hurt her leg and guess who carried her all the way?



Sammmmmmm



I love that scene. So romantic.



Must mention though that Zita found a pilot named something Tin, a Japanese (played by Lok Ying Kwan-looking very smart in that pilot do) and she suspected he was her father but couldn't bring herself to ask him so she ran away and Isaac casually asked.."Did you ...when you were young did something so reckless that resulted in you know a life?" and that man smilingly said "I was as boring as I was then as I am now.." and so the answer was no. Isaac found Zita and she eagerly asked "So"? and Isaac didn't have the heart to tell her what he said and he just said "You were right!" and Zita was very happy.



Next week I think more on Belle-Vincent-Sam-Zoe.



I love the cinematography of tonight's episode, especially that farm house with beautiful flowers and all as a backdrop, the house that belonged to Zoe's brother. I also love the warmth and the loving relationship between Zoe and her brother and sister in law, though the sister in law could hardly understand Cantonese. I have a feeling Zoe is like the baby of the family that is doted on and loved by all. And why should she be loved as much? I really like her though she was a bit ke-po-chi when it came to Sam-Isaac incident.



No guest starring tonight.



Performance wise, I am tired of repeating that Francis Ng rules so I shall just stop at that.



Ron Ng, Michelle Ye, Myolie Wu all did wonderfully whilst Bosco, Kenneth, Jerry Lam (who gave a very funny performance tonight) and Sammul Chan had little to do tonight.



Of all these 3 names I mentioned, Michelle Ye surprises me with again her thoughtful and graceful performance tonight as Zita. I thought when she calms down and acts, she could give Myolie a run for her money but really Myolie is just too cute. She is so pretty tonight and I love her hair. Performance wise, I find her wonderful. Michelle Ye too in some ways gave an above average performance though she hardly smiled today and for good reasons actually.



Lok Ying Kwan didn't look like a Japanese but I was a bit surprised to see him in here tonight. I am just too happy for this actor who as he grows older is given more varied roles, a welcomed change from the usual villanous roles.



I really look forward to next week's episodes.



I must mention Francis' pronunciation of Zoe is really horrible...now Zoe is I don't know what he said, was it So-wee? Jerry Lam could really speak very good English whilst Michelle Ye of course spoke very very good English with American accent, and why not? She was Miss Chinese International if I remembered correctly and I still remember she answered "Because it is my birthday tonight" or something like that when the judge asked why she should win that fateful night.
