EPISODE 9

Today is the one and hopefully last time I will ever dislike Zoe. She is one busybody. She found out from Ruby who all of a sudden, the cold stern boss telling Zoe her best friend's deepest secret (which was very odd of Ruby) and Zoe went to Sam and told Sam and Sam knowing the truth, told Zoe EVERYTHING about the romance in Rome and etc. And Sam told Zoe sternly to mind her own business and he didn't want to disrupt Belle and Vincent since Belle agreed to marry Vincent. Zoe felt guilty because she took she kinda hijacked the fated love affair between Belle and Vincent when it was doomed for failure from day 1 for lack of communication. It was funny to see how Sam opened up to Zoe whilst he still remained aloof with Belle, understandably so.

BUT Zoe would not let it rest. She invited both Sam and Belle for lunch, blurted out everything when Sam gave her the "Oii! Mind you own business! Don't you dareeeee tell" eyes but Zoe went ahead in full steam and Belle, good for her, finally confused no more said to Zoe the past is the past is the past is the past. She is with Vincent now, she is happy, she loved Vincent, she will leave now. So there was Sam and Zoe facing one another and Sam said he didn't quite blame Zoe for being such a busy body because "you're just a little girl". In one of the best scene of tonight's episode, Zoe looked at Sam with her cheeky smile and said "I don't mind whatever you said but I mind you said I am a little girl..." and Sam, dumb as he was seriously said "You're a little girl". Ahhhhhh I can't wait for their love to blossom.

That scene alone was interesting. It was at that moment that made me think, a man as serious and as not so fun guy like Sam should have someone as energetic, free spirited and fun like Zoe who will be able to open him up emotionally whilst someone as playful and as not so serious Vincent should have someone as idealistic, romantic as Belle who will be able to tie Vincent down, make him settle down.

Next scene we have the young trainees signing contracts and guess who was late? Isaac who was busy helping Zoe persuade a young man not to jump to his death. That was the best scene as the young man cried, "I feel so stressed, I can't study, my parents forced me to go to America to study.." and Isaac poured his heart out and said "What? You think you're worse off than me? My own brother doesn't even believe I can make it, so I will show it to him that I can".

And he was late and without even trying to explain himself and the head guy, a gwailo lecturing him about time management, Isaac was told to leave and Isaac ran away. Zita ran after him to persuade him to try to persuade his own brother to help him whilst Zoe met Donald and gang and explained it wasn't Isaac's fault. So they all went to see Sam who was very very uncharacteristicly harsh on everybody. Normally he is cool, stern but never shouted but wow! This time he shouted, expressing his disappointment over Isaac's behaviour right up until Zoe appeared did he not shout and he listened.

Back at home Isaac repaired that Sam's model airplane and gave it back to Sam whilst Sam asked him why he didn't bother to explain. I forgot what Isaac said and Sam told Isaac he can sign the agreement tomorrow. Isaac was of course very happy.

May I recap before this scene and before the kid tried to kill himself, Isaac personally went to see Zoe and gave her a cake. I was surprised at his niceness to Zoe (since he never did that with Zita) so I will speculate; Isaac will like Zoe? Anyway Paul gets the job as a airport personnel, same dept as Zoe and Ruby as his boss was not very nice to him at all.

Back to the plot proper, they all flew to Adelaide for training, with Sam as the big guy. Before that at the airport, everybody had families to say bye bye with except poor Donald whose only "family member" was his father's personal assistant. I do pity him. AND I take back what I said yesterday about the wedge between Chris and Donald. Donald truly treats Chris as his best friend and vice versa because Donald must have been the loneliest kid in the block. But there is still a master-servant relationship. I wonder what will happen if Chris and Donald fall for the same woman? Will Chris back away? Will Donald kick Chris aside?

Anyway last scene of this episode is worth a mention. Once at Adelaide, these kids were like tourists in awe of the planes and all. There was Sam alighting from that small plane in his very ultra cool I think wind breaker and his ugly hair style and Isaac inappropriately went to Sam and commented about that place like he was his brother .. which is true but then Sam sternly told everybody to buck up and stop being a tourist and walked away. Isaac of course thought that was personal when it actual fact, it was the only professional thing for Sam to do.

Performance wise, I am very impressed with Francis Ng with his killer gaze, Myolie for her infectious cuteness (and that one single scene where she playfully asked Sam, "A little girl?" was priceless) and especially Ron Ng, who was horrible in Find The Light but here, he is getting better by the minute. And may I say, more handsome too.

Everybody else had little to do. One worth mentioning is the underutilised Bosco. But no big deal, maybe there will be more.

And you may ask why Belle agreed to marry Vincent? Simple. Vincent came to her when she was sick and basically showed such concern that she decided to say yes to his proposal. BUT at the same time she still feel a little something for Sam but she and Sam deleted their emails, so for a while, Belle may be decided. Sam in actual fact is very attracted to Belle but good of him to deny his own feelings in favour of friendship. And good of Vincent to pretend their relationship in Rome never happened. If you don't acknowledge a fact, it doesn't exist and after a while it ceases to exist as you create your own universe of lies and denials. Oh yes, everybody is in a denial. The only sure ones are the younger generation, such as Isaac who has infinite belief in himself. Which is great but borderline arrogant sometimes.

I am beginning to enjoy this series now.

By the way, Francis and Flora won the best kiss in that ASTRO TV Awards. Eeeeeeeee ... he looked like he was swallowing her and Flora looked well .... it was a very suffering kiss to me. Why it won is simply because of Flora's popularity. She is very famous in Malaysia.

From all the clips I was hoping that Jessica Suen and Gallen Lo kiss could have won this category coz their's was so natural

I've just noticed that in most (i say most because i dun know if i've seen all of the series) series, Myolie always has a different look, hairstyle that distinguishes her character from series to the next. What a professional and talented actress. pj

I agree with Funn Lim about Sam and Belle's horrible kiss. Sam looked like he was trying to swallow Belle whole and Belle looked like her mouth got stuck there and couldn't get it out or something. Or maybe she was suffocating while her mouth was stuck in there. They don't deserve the best kiss award.
