EPISODE 19

Episode 20, from the looks of the preview would be a very interesting episode as Vincent shows his true colours! But back to this one first...

Isaac got it again. He got scolded again by Sam as he prepared to fly with Sam to Australia and he kinda left out one tiny detail; he had flu. When Sam knew, though it wasn't serious, Sam threw him out of the plane and Roy took over his place. Isaac was very angry but Vincent took Sam to the medical hall and he saw how the passengers were afflicted with some serious illness whilst on board of the plane and Isaac realised he was very careless when he went on board with that flu of his.

Meanwhile Phillip was very anxious and angry because he thought his food and beverages dept caused the widespread food poisoning, that he argued with his wife until he was told the problem was due to some passenger taking some virus on board or something. Phillip was of course apologetic and Sam came back in time to see them reconciling yet again. Then Sam went to see Isaac, intending to scold him yet again when Isaac called Zoe to please call Sam to interrupt him. When Sam was about to volunteer information about the flight which was something Isaac wanted to hear, Zoe called. Of course Sam took the call and Zoe invited him as a friend to a concert which Sam agreed.

At the meantime Belle and Coco's relationship were getting closer and better, making Vincent a very happy man. But like Zoe, Coco wanted someone to be her boyfriend and that was none other than Sam! Sam told Coco "I am an old uncle" and Coco replied "You're stable, you're dependable" which was why Zoe liked him in the first place. It would seem all girls under 21 will like Sam! Sam asked Belle to please tell Coco that he wasn't interested, Belle tried to but Coco was very determined that Sam was the one. Poor Sam. Anyway Belle felt that Zoe still had a chance so in a way Belle was cheering for Zoe. Me too of course but nothing happened.

The time has come for the appointment of a new captain for Solar Airlines. Only one captain and both Sam and Vincent had decent chance. And this time both of them had a chance to be the 1st Chinese Captain in Solar Airlines. Sam was the hot pick as he was always excellent and Sam really wanted this, as he confided in Isaac whilst Vincent wanted it more, as he confided in Belle. Each of course hoped the best man will win but Vincent wanted it more than Sam. He didn't like it when he overheard the S4 saying Sam could be the one. We will know tomorrow who will be captain but take a big wild guess...I think the decision must have something to do with what happened at the end of tonight's episode...

Nope, Isaac I think did not screw up Sam's chances, in fact he may have helped Sam to show off his leadership and flying skills. You see one passenger suddenly attacked Vicki (I think this is the name of Margaret Chung's character though I am not sure), really strangling her as the plane was experiencing some technical problem. Sam was busy trying to find out the problem, the captain busy flying the plane, so Isaac in a state of panick opened the cockpit and tried to help Vicki when that guy rushed into the cockpit, took a fire extinguisher and knocked the captain's very important arm. The captain was injured, and the guy subdued, and Sam scolding Isaac with that laser eye why he opened the cockpit when the Captain said "Sam you have control" and to Isaac "Isaac take my place, assist Sam". Isaac was numbed, he didn't know what to do until Sam in a very stern voice told Isaac.."So, what are you waiting for? Come here!" and that was the last scene.

I think Sam must have succcessfully saved the whole plane and all which was why in the preview he was named the new captain and I thought I saw Vincent throwing a cake onto the floor in a very ungentlemanly manner. Maybe Belle chose wrongly.

As for the rest of the gang, there was a side story of how Donald bought a property new Zita who moved in with Zoe, Ruby and Vicki and how Chris will stay with Donald. That's it with these people actually.

One thing I must mention is Isaac. I think tonight kinda showed how much he was in awe of Sam, though he never showed it in front of Sam, but behind Sam he was always saying "I have no doubt my brother will be the captain" or "I can learn from him, he is the best" even when sometimes their personalities and choices will clash. I like this Isaac so much more than he first appeared. Of course opening the cockpit was wrong but what was he to do? That man was really strangling that poor stewardess. Maybe all pilots should learn some self defence skill. May I take a guess that a captain is the only one with the right to bear arms whilst on board of the plane? This is so with ship captains.

Anyway, Isaac is becoming my favourite character in here, I just love his energy, his youth, his idolising Sam and yet very manly by not showing it. I doubt Sam realises how much Isaac was in awe of him.

In that respect, I find Ron Ng's performance becoming better and better. To all those rumours about Daniel Wu, Raymond Lam, Stephen Fung being the 1st 3 choices for the role of Isaac, I would say Ron Ng really suits this part. He may be bad in other series but to me he makes Isaac such a pleasure to watch. The way Sam scolded his Isaac, his eyes would be like "Oh there you go again" but he quietly listened. He was obnoxious in the beginning but he became such a better man now. To all dissenters who feel Ron Ng did badly in this role, I would say I disagree. I like him now. He is not fantastic, but he is more functional. I can see why TVB is heavily promoting him; he has star quality, he has this leading man quality, he is not handsome but you can't take your eyes off him. He was awful in Find The Light but he was interesting to watch in there. Maybe like Gallen Lo he is a diamond in the rough, takes time to become a gem. I look forward to seeing him improving, though sometimes some roles may not suit him.

Another that I am very impressed with is Nancy Wu as Coco. Very obnoxious but she is a natural in the sense she gives Coco a personality. It's not like Flora who acts and the end, Nancy Wu injects something more into her performance that makes it beyond just an act. Very hard to explain but I am sure I can find the words before the last episode of this series.

Myolie Wu had very little scenes today but like Francis, excellent as always.

Joe Ma is bearable tonight but I would rather see him as a villain. Hs English tonight was pure torture though, can't understand a single word he said. Even a ke-le-fe actor could speak better English. I wonder what went through his mind when he was required to deliver his lines in English, as with everybody else who never spoke the language before? Was it "Damn! This is the hardest role I have ever played!". Maybe...

Flora is bearable tonight, and she has a tendency of slurring her speech which is quite annoying.

Michelle Ye is scary tonight. She had little to do but I just find her big eyes, long messy hair and belly exposing shirt very scary.

The rest aren't acting; they just show up and wrap up!

Looking forward to tomorrow's episode.

End credits had Nancy Wu telling us why sick people are banned from flights. Quite rightly so.

I must mention this; there was a segment on the training programme for stewardess and stewards and there was this scene where passenngers give ridiculous demands and the air stewardess had to be ever polite. Maybe Malaysians had expected the minimum from our air stewardess; it is a fact that MAS Airlines serves cold Milo, diabetic inducing orange juice and occasionally lychee juice and nothing else. So we never ask for say...a diet coke. Maybe I haven't been on international flights for far too long!

Also why is everybody so nice to everybody else? Don't they have office politics in HK? I can't stand the friendliness shown in this series. And I am still waiting for some big emergency on a flight. When? When?!
